The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced CCE in all affiliated schools for classes IX and X students from October 2009.The CCE in classes IX and X is intended to provide holistic profile of the learner through evaluation of both scholastic and co-scholastic areas spread over two terms each during the two academic years. Apart from the CCE, CBSE also recommends conducting the Problem Solving Assessments (PSA) along with the Open Text Based Assessment (OTBA) and Assessment of Speaking and Listening (ASL).
